The Hairiness of Paul Nicholls

When you look at Paul Nicholls one of the first things that grabs you is how hairy he is. Many men, actors or not, seem to think that removing their natural body hair makes them more attractive ... it doesn't! Paul looks great, he is at ease with his natural manliness and when he has occasionally had to lose it, he loses something that makes him who he is.

This page is dedicated to the symbol of Paul's masculinity and one of the key reasons we love him so - his magnificent hairiness!

Through The Ages

First, a look at how Paul has grown to be the wonderful "fur-ball" that he is now. Now, magazines often use old pictures many years after they were first taken, so getting a definitive chronology isn't entirely straightforward but with the considerable help of Greeny member John in New Zealand, we reckon we can give you a pretty good illustrated history of Paul and his hair.

Aged only 14 when he starred in 'The Biz' (1994/5) Paul was immediately recognised as a star ... and what happens to good looking young stars - they get their shirts off in the magazines!

We reckon these pictures date from sometime in 1994 through 1995 when Paul would have been 15 going on 16 and there's already a nice spread of hair across his chest.

1995/6

Aged just 16, Paul moves on from a children's TV hit to one of the most popular prime-time TV series in the country, 'EastEnders'. Turning 17 a few weeks after his first appearance on the show, there's no denying that this is no boy on our screens, but a fine young man!

1996/7

By 1997 Paul is one of the most famous, and most photographed, young British actors. Winning poll after reader's poll and getting covers on magazines as diverse as 'My Guy', 'Big!' and even 'Gay Times'! Unfortunately this is where we start getting confused! In the first picture here, we can see a distinct hairy trail running all the way down his stomach, this picture was first published in February 1996 yet the famous beach picture above was being used in 1998! So, did Paul shave off the trail or were much older (but definitely very attractive!) photographs being used by some magazines? We can't see the full extent of the coverage in the second example, but I think we can safely assume that there is plenty fo hair all over, and still barely 18!

1998/9

1999 ended on a good note - Paul's first two feature films get released! Joy of joys one of them, The Clandestine Marriage includes some very nice scenes of our man shirtless. The dense black hair across his torso tells everyone that this is no preening, precious, luvvie but a man ... a real man!

After his TV successes of the '90s, Paul spent several years honing his craft on the stage, and while this work didn't involve a lot of chest-baring, those occasions where his shirt was absent were even more rewarding. In Mrs Steinberg & The Byker Boy he effectively seduces his work colleague ... and who wouldn't be seduced by the sight of that chest?!
